Do you know basic West Coast Swing? Do you want to learn more?
Build your skills and confidence in Level 2!
Prerequisites: the MWCSC Level 1 (Beginner) Lesson Series (both A and B) or instructor permission. You should be familiar with basic WCS moves, like left and right side passes, sugar push, sugar tuck, basic whip and some variations, free spin, and inside roll. You don’t need to register with a partner – we rotate during class.
Registration
Prices will increase by $10 one week before the first lesson at noon, and there’s limited space in the class, so don’t delay! See an event below for specific prices. Here are some general details:
- Non-members: Your ticket includes a one-year membership, which entitles you to discounts at all our weekly and monthly dances! (Membership is normally $25, and you’ll save $5 over buying a membership separately)
- Students: We offer a discount on both student memberships and some events. Your price will factor both of these discounts in. (Student ID required upon arrival to the first lesson)
- Student-Members: Get a $5 discount on this series
- Double Class Discount: If you take both this Skills and Drills course and the concurrent leveled class series, you will receive a $20 discount on the second series. (Check your series registration confirmation email for the discount code to use when signing up for the second series in the same time period.)
Class A, B, C,…
These series can be taken in any order and the expectation is that dancers can benefit from taking all three.

Location & Parking Information
- Madison Youth Arts Center (MYArts) 1055 E. Mifflin Street (map — please note building outline is not shown on Google Maps due to it being so new!)
- The street entrance to MYArts is on the corner of E. Mifflin Street and N. Ingersoll Street.
- A club volunteer will be stationed at the front desk in the lobby for the first week of class to check-in and direct dancers to the correct room.
- On-street parking is free, but please check signage for time limitations.
- There is a parking garage in the building that costs $2/hr and has interior access to MYArts. Access the garage from N. Ingersoll Street.
- NOTE: Some evenings, particularly in the summer, there are large events (sports and festivals) happening at Breese Stevens Field next to MYArts. Street parking may be difficult, and most parking lots in the area incur higher special-event parking fees. However, the parking garage attached to MYArts does not offer event parking and is still open to MYArts attendees. There will likely be an attendant at the parking lot entrance turning away Breese Stevens event-goers, but if you tell them you are going to an event in MYArts, they will let you park there.
