He currently teaches with partner Tara Trafzer out of Costa Mesa, CA.
Colleen Uspensky Colleen Uspensky and her husband Arthur have been an energetic West Coast Swing partnership since 2011. She resides in Chicago, Illinois where she teaches, competes, and grows the dance community at the popular dance studio May I Have This Dance. Colleen has an extensive ballroom, Latin, and country background, as well as her BFA in Dance Education from the University of Northern Colorado. She loves performing, traveling, and socializing, but most of all she loves her kids Audrey and Ari, and her first child, a poodle named Tye.
Mike Topel Mike Topel has been coached by the some of the world’s best in swing, ballroom, country, and Latin dancing, and has been teaching since 1994. Mike spent several years with the Madison West Coast Swing Club as President and a pro instructor. Mike prefers to perform where he can showcase his leading, following, musicality, and improvisational skills. Now based out of Austin, TX, Mike continues to compete, judge, MC, DJ, and teach at several swing and country events.
Tara Trafzer Tara Trafzer works out of Atomic Ballroom in Irvine, DanScene Dance Studio in Costa Mesa, and at Buddy Schwimmer’s Dance Center in Redlands, CA. With their debut at the U.S. Open Swing Dance Championships in 2015, Tara and Christopher Dumond began a new partnership. Together, they travel, teach, and compete at events throughout the year on the NASDE circuit as well as workshop weekends and non-NASDE events.
April Prince April Prince was born into a family of musicians. She finds joy in teaching and sharing the gift of music with others. April DJs and manages West Coast Wednesdays and The Mix Dance in Chicago, IL. She also spins at national dance events and is the event director of Swing City Chicago. In 2009, April was named the All Swing DJ of the Year and was recently inducted into the Global Swing DJ Hall of Fame.
Crystal Fischer has been involved with the Madison West Coast Swing Club for several years: serving on the board and as a long-time beginner instructor. She is best known for being very welcoming to new dancers and bringing high energy to her lessons. Though she retired from teaching regular lessons for the club, she was excited to come in to teach for such a special event.

Video recaps (for personal use only) will be permitted for each class.
